WELCOME TO THE GREATER BRISBANE JUNIOR RUGBY LEAGUE
THE Greater Brisbane Junior Rugby League, or "the Stingers" is the arm of the Queensland Rugby League which administers and develops junior rugby league in the greater Brisbane area.
Our boundaries stretch from Burpengary in the north, to Beenleigh in the south and the Ipswich City/Brisbane boundary in the west.
There's even a junior club on North Stradbroke Island. Within this region are 45 affiliated junior rugby league clubs which had a combined season 2009 total of 12,896 registered junior players within the Under 6 to Under 18 age groups.
Since season 2003, the number of junior registrations has risen 40 percent, which equates to 157 new teams and 80 more matches of rugby league each week.
Each weekend, an estimated 30,000 spectators attended those matches.
Our website www.stingers.net.au rates in the top 10 junior sporting websites across Australia for the highest number of visits and is reported to have the highest number of page requests for any junior rugby league organisation in the Southern hemisphere.
Currently, the Stingers website attracts in excess of 20 million visits each year.
Our newly designed website will ensure we not only attract new visitors but keep them coming back.
As a mainly self-funded not-for-profit organisation we are always seeking to engage new sponsors to assist us in our endeavour to further develop and promote the game of junior rugby league and to provide training and development programs for our volunteers.
