BROTHERS TO CELEBRATE MILESTONE

 

Brothers celebrate 75th anniversary this year

THIS year, the Brothers Junior Rugby League Football Club will be celebrating their 75th anniversary.

Brothers first fielded teams in the Brisbane Junior Rugby League competition in 1935 and the Junior Club was formed in 1945 to administer and foster junior teams in the Past Brothers Club.

To mark the milestone event, the club will be putting on a number of activities throughout the year, including a special dinner.

The evening will be held at the Norths Leagues and Services Club at Kallangar on Saturday, June 19, during the GBRJL Chairman’s Trophy weekend.

Club president Roger Whyte it would be a great night out and the club were expecting a number of former players to lend a hand on the night.

“We will have auctions of memorabilia and we are having special jerseys made with 75th year on them which will be auctioned off,” Mr Whyte said. 

“We will also have raffles past players and ex-Brothers will be there to and interviewed by our MC.”
