FORMER STINGERS TAKE THE STEP UP TO NRL

 

Seven junior players from the Greater Brisbane Junior Rugby League competition have taken a massive step towards playing in the NRL following their recent transfer into the national competition.

Dallas Anderson, Dale Copley, Mitchell McMahon, Kurt Baptiste (all from Aspley Rugby League Football Club), Haydeen Lewis from Wests (Brisbane) Junior Rugby League Football Club and Corey Norman and Charlie Jones from Eastern Suburbs Districts Rugby League Football Club have joined the stables of the Brisbane Broncos, who continue grow their team with talent that has emerged from the Stingers ranks.

Matthew Currie from Wests (Brisbane) Junior Rugby League Football Club has also transferred into the NRL and is heading south to join this year’s minor premiers Melbourne Storm.

“He has been with us for a few weeks now and has been training very well,” Melbourne Storm NYC team’s Chris Jones said. “If he gets picked in the team, you will see him play in the NYC next season.”

Three other players pending tranfers into the NRL are Titako Sili from Southern Suburbs JRLFC who is off to the Canberra Raiders, while Sirobai Makatoa from Wynumm-Manly JRLFC will be heading off to the Bulldogs. Albany Creek's Gary Riccardi has signed on to join premiership winners, the Manly Sea Eagles.
